April, 2012 Clinic

After postponement due to election unrest our spring clinic finally proceeds.  The Mayor of the town personally thanked Friends in Africa for providing the poor of his town with medical care and food!

The following is from an email update on the April ’12 medical clinic in Grand Yoff, a community on the outskirts of Dakar, where we treated 1,286 patients.  It is from the Senegalese director of Friends In Africa, Miracle Ifeanyichukwu.  At this clinic a feeding program provided nourishing meals to clinic patients and neighborhood children.

I want to inform You that the clinic finally took place on the 27th and 28th of April 2012. But amid the challenges, we had one of our best clinics. We reached out to about 1,286 patients. The mayor of Grand Yoff came personally to thank us and shake hands with us, he brought sandwiches and juice to the team. Finally, he invited us to his community for a similar program next year. I will send You the pictures within the week.

The feeding program was possible because we did not pay for lodging, and because we used part of the administrative building we did not spend much on Tents.
